The group is an extra-curricular ensemble, comprised of seventeen students selected from Tesoro\u2019s choral program who rehearse twice a week outside of the normal school day. Titanium is led by Tesoro alumna Erin Theodorakis and Tesoro choral Director Keith Hancock. Erin is the former music director of Chapman University\u2019s co-ed a cappella group Soundcheck, and led the group to ICCA finals in 2016. Mr. Hancock was awarded the Grammy Music Educator of the Year award in 2017 for his work at Tesoro. In the three years since its official founding, Titanium has competed regularly in the International Competition for High School A Cappella (ICHSA), made a music video, released two singles and an EP, and performed at the Grammy museum for director Quentin Tarantino. In 2020 and 2021, Titanium was awarded first place at the ICHSA Southwest Quarterfinals, and in 2021, the group was awarded second place for the ICHSA West region.
